RESOLUTION NO. 6042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A GRANT PASS-THRU AGREEMENT WITH THE
CITY OF PHOENIX FOR THE RECEIPT OF FEDERAL TRANSIT
ADMINISTRATION FUNDS FOR TRANSIT SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,000,000.
WHEREAS, the Chandler Flex (microtransit) service provides an alternative form of public
transportation in the City of Chandler that improves mobility for seniors and individuals with
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix has received a Federal Transit Administration grant for the funding
of transit projects in the Phoenix urban area; and
WHEREAS, $1,000,000 of the federal grant has been allocated to the City of Chandler as a grant
subrecipient for contracting costs for the Chandler Flex service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chandler is required to contribute local matching funds up to $250,000 for
the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as
follows:
Section 1. Approving the Grant Pass-Thru Agreement with the City of Phoenix in substantially
the form attached as Exhibit “A” to this Resolution and authorizing the City Manager
or his designee to execute the Agreement and to take such other and further actions
as may be necessary to fully implement the Agreement.
Section 2. Authorizing the acceptance of the grant funds up to the maximum amount awarded
and authorizing the City of Chandler to contribute local matching funds of $250,000.
