City Council Report
Date: October 26, 2026
To: City Council
Through: Michael Kennington, Deputy City Manager/Chief Financial Officer
From: Edward Quedens, Business Services Director
Kristy Garcia, Procurement Administrator
Subject: Three-Year Term Contract with Two-Year Renewal Options for Storm Drain
Pump and Maintenance Repair for the Transportation and Facilities
Management Departments (Single Response) (Citywide)
Recommendation
Council is requested to approve the award as recommended.
A committee representing the Transportation and Facilities Management Departments and
Procurement Services evaluated responses and recommend awarding the contract to the
single, responsive, and responsible proposal from RediPump, LLC in a total amount not to
exceed $700,000 annually, with an annual increase allowance of up to 5% or the adjusted
Consumer Price Index.
Background / Discussion
This contract will provide storm drain pump maintenance, and general pump repair services
for pumps maintained by the Transportation and Facilities Management departments. The
departments oversee a variety of pumps that support critical City infrastructure and facility
operations by managing stormwater, circulating water through heating and cooling
systems, and conveying wastewater. These systems require routine inspections, preventive
maintenance, and repairs to maintain reliable performance and minimize service
disruptions. Regular maintenance and timely repairs also help reduce equipment failures,
extend the useful life of the pumps, and support the continued operation of City services
and facilities.
City staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to all registered Storm Drain Pump and
Maintenance Repair providers. One proposal response was received. Procurement
reached out to vendors to inquire why they did not submit a response. Vendors responded
that they either do not perform the services requested or were not aware of the solicitation
during the advertised period. All vendors contacted were registered under the applicable
commodity codes and received notification when the solicitation was issued. The single
proposal response was evaluated by a committee and was found to be responsive to the
requirements of the RFP. The evaluation committee unanimously agreed on the award
recommendation.
