Dear Ms. Dedic,
I reviewed your correspondence with Amy Jacobson, the City of Chandler’s Housing
and Redevelopment Manager. We appreciate the longstanding partnership between the
County and the City to house two Head Start programs in City owned buildings.
I understand the County is considering installation of new flooring in both properties
and has requested an amendment to Lease No. C-6552 (130 N. Hamilton) and Lease No. L-
7178 (660 S. Palm Lane). At this time, we will not be bringing the proposed amendments
forward to our Public Housing Authority Council. We have reviewed the current effective
leases, and the current leases provide for the ability to make the desired upgrades with
written approval by the City. Currently, section 15 of Lease No. C-6552 and Lease No. L-7178
provides the mechanism for approval. Consistent with the current terms of Lease Nos. C-
6552 and L-7178, the City is willing to provide written approval for the flooring, as indicated
below.
130 N Hamilton:
Pursuant to Section 15 of the Agreement, Lessor acknowledges Lessee’s desire to
make improvements to the Premises. Lessor authorizes Lessee to make said improvements
to replace the flooring with Hallmark LVT, color TBD. The improvements include removing
and replacing toilets, contractor will cut in new flooring around toilet partitions. Lessee shall
be financially responsible for all costs associated with design, permitting, purchase and
installation of the work associated with the Tenant Improvements in an amount no greater

the work required to complete the Tenant Improvements. All work must conform to and be
in substantial accordance in quality and appearance with the quality and appearance of the
improvements in the remainder of the building where the Premises is located.
660 Palm Lane:
Pursuant to Section 15 of the Agreement, Lessor acknowledges Lessee’s desire to
make improvements to the Premises. Lessor authorizes Lessee to make said improvements
