Project Title: Mobility Services b. Project Location: Unincorporated areas of Maricopa County c. Project Description: Transportation Services to ADA certified individuals Maricopa County submits a grant application to support the transportation services provided to individuals who receive ADA certification through Valley Metro and live in unincorporated areas of Maricopa County. Currently 35% of the trips provided are required as a mandated transportation service regardless of the trip purpose while approximately 65% of trips provided are not mandated due to the defined paratransit service area. Mandated and non-mandated trips provide individuals living in unincorporated areas of the County direct transportation to and from medical appointments, school, work, and trips for other purposes. Project activities reduce transportation barriers for individuals that may otherwise not have access to medical care, employment, education, and other community activities. The demand for services exceed the ALF funds previously allocated, which has caused Maricopa County to contribute General Funds to this activity. It is anticipated that the demand for services will continue to significantly exceed the funding availability as well. Additional project information may be attached. d.
