Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration 3010 North Second Street, Suite 100 Phoenix, Arizona 85012 www.dea.gov August 14, 2020 Allister Adel Maricopa County Attorney Maricopa County Attorney's Office 301 W. Jefferson Street, Suite 800 Phoenix, AZ 85003 Dear Ms. Adel: The Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) collaboration with our state and local partners has consistently demonstrated that our enforcement efforts against major drug trafficking organizations are successful because of our law enforcement partnerships throughout the state. I invite you to continue your participation in DEA’s Task Force Program and include for your review, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Task Force Agreement(s). According to our records, your office currently participates in the DEA’s Phoenix Task Force with a total commitment of one (1) full-time investigator(s). During the course of this FY, the DEA will be transferring your task force officer to a DEA Program Funded position. As outlined in the Program- Funded Agreement, each program-funded position is now eligible for overtime reimbursement of up to “25% of a GS-12, Step 1, of the general pay scale for the Rest of the United States,” equivalent to a dollar amount of $19,180.25, per position, for the fiscal year. Your office’s task force officer will begin the year working under a HIDTA agreement until the transfer to a DEA position is completed. To ensure a seamless transition to the new fiscal year, a signature and return of the enclosed FY 2021 DEA Task Force Agreements and attached Certifications Regarding Lobbying; Department Suspension and Other Responsibility Matters; and Drug-Free Workplace Requirements is required by September 30, 2020. If your office anticipates a delay, please notify my office’s new point of contact, Program Support Specialist Erica Curry, at (571) 362-0476 or via email at: Erica.C.Curry@usdoj.gov. I look forward to our continued success in drug law enforcement. If you have any questions, please contact me at (571) 387-3275. Sincerely, Cheri A. Oz Special Agent in Charge Enclosures
