Jefferson, 10th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003, with the following members present: Jack Sellers, Chairman, District 1; Bill Gates, Vice Chairman, District 3; Steve Chucri, Supervisor, District 2 (remote); Clint Hickman, Chairman, District 4; Steve Gallardo, Supervisor, District 5 (remote). Also present: Juanita Garza, Clerk; Joy Rich, County Manager; Andrea Cummings, Legal Counsel (remote); Kelly Gardiner, Minutes Coordinator. 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION Vote to convene in Executive Session to consider the items on the Executive Agenda dated Wednesday, February 10, 2021, for Board of Supervisors and relevant Special Districts pursuant to the statutory authority listed for each item. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02(0), notice is hereby given that an emergency session of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors was held February 10, 2021 at approximately 11:30 am. at 301 W. Jefferson - 1 oth floor, Phoenix, AZ, 85003. The meeting was held with members attending either telephonically or in person. The meeting was held with the following members attending: Jack Sellers, Chairman, District 1; Bill Gates, Vice-Chairman, District 3; Steve Chucri, Supervisor, District 2, (remote); Clint Hickman, Supervisor, District 4; Steve Gallardo, Supervisor, District 5 (remote). Also, present were: Juanita Garza, Clerk of the Board; Joy Rich, County Manager; Andrea Cummings, Legal/Counsel (remote). Andrea Cummings stated that the Emergency was due to the need to get Legal advice regarding recent and ongoing events in the state legislature related to Elections and potential related legal ramifications. Bill Gates, Vice Chairman made a motion for the Board to convene in Executive Session. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Hickman. Motion carried unanimously: Ayes: Sellers, Chucri, Gates, Hickman, and Gallardo. At the emergency Executive and possibly Open session the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors considered information and/or legal advice regarding Board responsibilities and authority re: Elections, election equipment, audits, Senate subpoenas, and litigation.
