Maricopa County Human Services Department Workforce Development Division 234 N. Central Ave. 3rd Floor Phoenix, AZ 85004 Attn: Tom Colombo: I am happy to donate this box and a half of books. “Laid Off? Don’t Stress! How to get from Mad to Glad” was written to help people to realize that there are many positives a person can learn while going through change. In my case, I was laid off from marketing three times and the last layoff before I started my own business was at East Valley Regional Cancer Center and they gave 17 of us a termination package. I found that all of us helping each other as so uplifting; I was not alone. The book is the story of 21 different people who told their own story of change. Some changes were instigated because of being laid off and others just decided they did not want to be where they were. CNN chose this book in 2006 as being the most positive, forward looking book of the year. It was fun having them come out and shoot a segment on the book. I think they were more impressed that I took time off my own business to go fly fishing. Since then, I’ve started two more businesses, “Winds of Change Consulting” and a Cosmetic business, “Lips by Kitty.” I hope these books will help each person to become hopeful and realize we are in a wonderful country in which we can think big and start our own business. Change isn’t scarry, change is a great motivator. Sincerely, Kitty Wiemelt, “Lips by Kitty” 716 N. Norwalk Circle Mesa, AZ 85205 kitty@kittywiemelt.com 480-329-6996
