Additional Information:
The goal of the QC/EM ADMS/P U is to develop solutions to reduce flood risks and damages to the
residents, properties, and infrastructure in the study area. The major objectives of the study are to: (1)
Compile a comprehensive database of critical project information including known flooding and drainage
problems, (2) Develop a FLO-2D Hydrologic and Hydraulic model using recent aerial topography and
updated rainfall data, (3) Prepare a Flood Hazard Assessment based on the collected data and FLO-2D
model results which will aid in identification of flood prone areas, (4) Evaluate the past flood mitigation
alternatives and prepare an Alternative Flood Hazard Mitigation Plan to provide potential solutions for
the identified flood prone areas and provide general estimated costs for each solution, (5) Inform
residents and stakeholders on the flood hazards and risks and work with residents and stakeholders to
develop structural and non-structural recommendations to mitigate the flood hazards, reduce flood risk,
and minimize financial impacts due to flooding; and (6) Develop selected preferred alternative flood
control solutions refined to a 15% conceptual design.
