Amendment to Intergovernmental Agreement Between Maricopa County and the City of Buckeye C-50-19-055-3-01 This Amendment 1 to Agreement made and entered into this _______ day of ____________, 20__ , by and between the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors acting on behalf of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the City of Buckeye, Arizona, acting by and through the Buckeye Police Department (Buckeye), the “Parties.” WHEREAS, Buckeye is an active partner and has an officer assigned to the Maricopa County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force (MCDST) administered by MCSO. The Buckeye officer will be assisting in the investigation of criminal organizations that operate drug labs and/or distribute narcotics within the State of Arizona. WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes § 11-952 et seq. authorizes public agencies to enter into Intergovernmental Agreements for the provision of services or for joint cooperative action. WHEREAS the current Agreement entered into February 13, 2019 and retroactive to January 1, 2019 (C-50-19-055- 3-00) will expire December 31, 2019 and WHEREAS MCSO will implement a new Agreement in Calendar Year 2020; and the parties wish to continue this Agreement for four months or until it is replaced. The Parties Agree: A. The first sentence in 1. of “Both Parties Agree to the following,” 1. is replaced: 1. Upon approval of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, the duration of the Agreement shall be January 1, 2019 through April 30, 2020, and will continue month to month for up to three (3) months, unless canceled and until it is replaced. B. Terms and Conditions, number 2. is replaced: 1. That the total overtime funds available to Buckeye for reimbursement by MCSO during the duration of this Agreement shall not exceed $12,000. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement are unchanged.
