This past week's NACO Awards ceremony underscored the growth of the County and the contributions of so many dedicated professionals innovating and collaborating to deliver quality services to the residents of Maricopa County. I have been very fortunate to be part of that work. With respect to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, the organization is stronger, more capable, and ready to move forward with a community focus to enhance public safety, a client emphasis to deliver quality civil legal services, and ever mindful of the people in need of help. Second only to my service in the Army, my time as County Attorney has been the most professionally rewarding time of my life. With Governor Ducey appointing me to serve as the next Justice on the Arizona Supreme Court, my time as County Attorney has come to a close. I wish you and all of my colleagues continued success. Please accept my resignation as Maricopa County Attorney effective immediately.
