HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM PAYMENT STANDARDS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2019
WHEREAS, payment standards are used to calculate the housing assistance payment (HAP) that
the Housing Authority pays to the owner on behalf of the family leasing the unit. The level at
which the payment standard amount is set directly affects the amount of subsidy a family will
receive, and the amount of rent paid by program participants; and
WHEREAS, each Housing Authority must adopt a payment standard schedule that establishes
voucher payment standard amounts for each unit size, for each FMR area, in the Housing
Authority’s jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, HAMC will increase the payment standard for 1- and 2-bedroom units to 105% of the
FMR, and 3-bedroom units to 97% of the FMR, updating the Payment Standards as follows:

NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Maricopa County
hereby adopts Resolution No. 19-018 and approves the Housing Choice Voucher Payment
Standards effective August 1, 2019.
