Jefferson, 10th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County, Phoenix, Arizona, convened in Special Session at 12:00 PM Monday, June 03, 2019, at the Sullivan Conference Room, 301 W. Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ, 85003, with the following members present: Bill Gates, Chairman, District 3; Clint Hickman, Vice Chairman, District 4 (via phone); Jack Sellers, District 1; Steve Chucri, District 2; and Steve Gallardo, District 5 (via phone). Also present: Debra Schaffer, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Joy Rich, County Manager; and Andrea Cummings, Legal Counsel. Minutes compiled by Maria Ceaglske, Minutes Coordinator. 1. EXECUTIVE SESSION Vote to convene in Executive Session to consider the items on the Special Executive Agenda dated June 03, 2019, for Board of Supervisors and relevant Special Districts pursuant to the statutory authority listed for each item. Motion to approve by Supervisor Chucri, seconded by Supervisor Sellers Ayes: Sellers, Chucri, Gates, Hickman, Gallardo MEETING RECESSED Chairman Gates recessed executive session. OPEN SESSION RECONVENED Chairman Gates reconvened open session to consider the following agenda item. Special Meeting Minutes Monday, June 03, 2019 Page 2 of 2 OPEN SESSION 2. MARICOPA COUNTY V. PURDUE PHARMA (N.D. OHIO) Authorize the Chairman to direct counsel to take action as discussed in Executive Session on June 3, 2019. (C-19-19-056-M-00) Motion by Supervisor Chucri to move forward using full potential resources in the case of Maricopa County V. Purdue Pharma (N.D. Ohio).
