AMENDMENT
TO THE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
MARICOPA COUNTY
ADMINISTERED BY ITS
HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT
AND
TEMPE COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY
Maricopa County by and through its Human Services Department (“County”) and Tempe Community
Action Agency (TCAA), (“Contractor”) entered into a financial Contract (“Agreement”) on or about August
23, 2017. The Parties are authorized to enter into this Agreement pursuant to A.R.S. § 11-952. The purpose
of the Agreement is for TCAA to make payments to landlords, mortgage companies or utilities companies on
behalf of eligible clients that require financial assistance. The County would reimburse TCAA an amount not-
to-exceed $615,000 for payment services: $600,000 for payments to landlords, mortgage and utility companies
and $15,000 for check writing fees. The County and TCAA may be referred to individually as “Party” or
collectively as the “Parties”.
The Parties executed Amendment No. 1 on or about January 25, 2018, which increased the reimbursement
amount by $300,000 for payments to landlords, mortgage and utility companies. The Agreement ceiling
amount increased from $615,000 to $915,000 for the June 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, term.
Amendment No. 2 extended the Agreement term from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2019 and provided
$900,000 for reimbursements to landlords, mortgage and utilities companies on behalf of clients. The
Amendment also provided $15,000 for check writing fees. Total funding for the July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019
period shall not exceed $915,000 for the extended term.
The Parties wish to amend the Agreement to address the following items (Amendment No. 3):
I. Increase reimbursement amount by $510,000 from $915,000 to a not-to-exceed amount of $1,425,000 for
the July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 term.
A. The funding amount for reimbursements paid to landlords, mortgage and utilities shall be increased
by $500,000 from $900,000 to a not-to-exceed amount of $1,400,000;
B. The check writing fees amount shall be increased by $10,000 from $15,000 to a not-to-exceed
amount of $25,000.
II. Revise the Agreement to address the following:
A. 1.2 read: The Parties are authorized to enter into this Agreement pursuant to A.R.S. § 11-952; and
B. 1.3 remove in its entirety.
III. The Amendment shall be effective upon approval and signature by both parties.
IV. The foregoing paragraphs contain all the changes to the Agreement. All other terms and conditions of
the original Agreement as amended and approved remain the in full force and effect and as agreed to by
the Parties.
