Scope of Services
Project Specific
AZTEC originally completed the final design of this project for MCDOT in 2013. Sealed plans,
specifications, estimate and bid schedule were submitted at that time Subsequently, MCDOT approved
the use of roundabouts at the 117 th Avenue and 109' Avenue intersections with DVR. In addition,
mining activities have continued in the AFR changing the existing ground conditions. AZTEC was then
tasked to provide Final Design Update with Roundabouts through a previous Work Assignment. This
previous scope of work included revising the original construction documents to incorporate the
roundabouts and change in existing ground conditions by adding new sheets and revising original sheets
to meet current MCDOT standards. The eurrent construction standard details were to be referenced in
the plan set. The original plans were not to be changed if possible. The pre-30% and 30% submittals
were made in accordance with this previous scope of work. The 60% submittal was enhanced to include
the new and revised sheets, and the original sheets at the request of MCDOT to provide a complete plan
set for reference of the review team, Extensive comments were received on the combined plan Set and
several comment resolution meetings have been held, including a sepal 'ate constructability review. The
95% and Sealed PS&E submittals are pending ongoing Utility Coordination primarily concerning APS's
design of their joint trench, MCDOT has requested an additional submittal of the 95% plans to the
utilities labeled as the 60% resubmittal. MCDOT has also requested that the Agua Fria River (AFR)
Bridge and Agua Fria Truck Road Reliever (AFTRR) Underpass designs be reviewed and updated per
current ADOT and AASI-1TO design criteria and standards, The bridge design and sheet revisons will
not be included in the 60% resubmittal. Additional efforts are required to complete the bridge design
based on the 60% review comments and requests received to date and as follows.
