Denise Voiles, Nurse Manager
MARICOPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
4041 N. Central Avenue #700
Phoenix, Arizona 85012
Dear Ms. Voiles,
This letter is to inform you of the funding plan for the remainder of the current contract cycle for the High
Risk Perinatal Program (HRPP), contract number ADHS14-074958.
As you are aware, ADHS is transitioning to a new procurement system. Once the transition is complete,
you will receive a new purchase order in the amount of $440,165.
In November additional funds will be added to the purchase order. HRPP, along with additional ADHS
programs were selected to receive funds from the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS)
State Targeted Response (STR) Grant as a support and prevention activity to address the increasing opioid
crisis. The overall goal of the project is to increase access to Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment,
coordinated and integrated care, recovery support services and prevention activities to reduce the
prevalence of OUD’s and opioid-related overdose deaths. Funding was distributed to HRPP contractors
based on documented information related to suspected cases by hospital and geographic area. These
funds must be used by April 30, 2019. Your organization has been awarded the following: $39,250
In January you will receive additional federal funds in the amount of $16,500. MCH funds, previously
known as OCSHCN funds, are primarily used for children with special healthcare needs who do not qualify
for NICP services. Please see the HRPP Policy & Procedure Manual for details.
Funds Expended Year to Date $94,085.00
Pending Purchase Order through 6/30/19 $495,915.00
TOTAL AWARD July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 $590,000.00
Funding for HRPP is “as needed” based on client visits/enrollments. Each year a “not to exceed” limit is
budgeted for the contract which allows ADHS flexibility in allocating funds based on the services provided
and without generating an amendment, should adjustments be required. The “not to exceed” amount is
subject to increase or decrease during the fiscal year based on service provision, availability of funds, and
program needs. Any deviation must receive prior approval from the Home Visiting Program Manager.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (602) 364-3256 or Carrie.Cantrell@azdhs.gov.
Sincerely,
Carrie Cantrell
