Dear Ms. Voiles,
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), High Risk Perinatal/Newborn Intensive Care Program
(HRPP/NICP) is pleased to contract with your agency to provide Community Health Nursing Services for
state fiscal year 2019.
Funding for this program is “as needed” based on client visits/enrollments. Each year a “not to exceed”
limit is budgeted for the contract which allows ADHS flexibility in allocating funds based on the services
provided and without generating an amendment, should adjustments be required. The “not to exceed”
amount is subject to increase or decrease during the fiscal year based on service provision, availability of
funds, and program needs. Any deviation must receive prior approval from the Home Visiting Program
Manager.
The contract period is from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. This year, a purchase order will be issued for the
first four months only to accommodate the State of Arizona’s transition to a new procurement system.
Also, this year the funding from Maternal Child Health (MCH) is transitioning from federal fiscal year to a
calendar year, which means that the 1st MCH allocation must be used by 12/31/2018. There will be
additional MCH funds awarded for 1/1/2019 to 6/30/2019.
MCH funds, previously known as OCSHCN funds, are primarily used for children with special healthcare
needs who do not qualify for NICP services. Please see the HRPP/NICP Policy & Procedure Manual for
details.
In reference to contact number ADHS14-074958:
HRPP/NICP funds: $552,000.00
MCH funds (7/1/18-12/31/18): $ 6,500.00
Anticipated MCH funds (1/1/19-6/30/19): $ 16,500.00
TOTAL AWARD: $575,000.00 (Newborn Screening funds issued as needed)
In reference to Contract ADHS-17-154596, the funding for this year will be $20,000. HRPP is pleased to
continue the consultant component to provide trainings and technical assistance in this upcoming year.
Bonnie Drenth brings strong experience and expertise to peers throughout the state. If you have questions
regarding the processes above, contact me at (602) 364-3256 or Carrie.Cantrell@azdhs.gov.
Sincerely,
Carrie Cantrell
