Re: Electrical District Number Seven — Cancellation of Election
Dear Ms. Medaris:
As you are aware, if an election that is to be held pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes
Title 15, Title 48 or § 16-822, and the total number of persons who file a nomination petition for a
candidate and the number of persons who file a nomination paper for a write-in candidate as
prescribed by chapter 3, articles 2 and 3 of this title is less than or equal to the number of positions
to be filled at the election for which the nomination petition or nomination paper is filed, the
county Board of Supervisors may cancel the election.
The final day for candidate nomination papers for the Electrical District Number Seven
directors' election was October 29, 2018. As there are three director positions up for election this
year, and only one candidate petition was filed for each position, the District hereby requests that
the Board of Supervisors cancel the January 12, 2019, directors' election. The board positions
that are up for election in 2019 are Director seats that are currently filled by Lomand Beals, Ron
Gass and Matthew Woolf Copies of their nomination papers are enclosed.
Please place this matter on the agenda for the next fon -nal Board of Supervisors meeting,
which we understand will be on November 28, 2018.
