Spark 101 is a program of the 114th Partnership. Our goal is to broaden participation in high-skills coursework and high-opportunity careers by helping young people navigate education and career pathways. As an instructional resource for classroom use, Spark 101 STEM skills videos: • Map to specific academic standards and curricular objectives • Engage students with: o Dynamic and diverse speakers o "B-roll" that transports students from their classrooms to the workplace o Artifacts (redacted and simplified as appropriate) to facilitate the applied problem solving exercise • Tastefully embed organization “brand,” while avoiding overt advertising Spark 101 Career Snapshot Videos, in development as a new program feature, are 1-minute introductions to high-opportunity career fields. Rather than serving as an instructional resource, these videos are being designed inspire a next-step action. Those actions include, but are not limited to, employer/educator engagement in full Spark 101 STEM Skills Video production/use and more exploratory actions within college and career counseling and planning platforms. Spark Snapshot Videos benefit from the same motivational science research as the full Spark 101 STEM Skills Video program. To ensure a quality project, the Spark 101 team agrees to: • Design and facilitate 2-3 live design sessions with Phoenix-area employers , each focused on a particular industry area; • Produce 3 Career Snapshot prototypes; • Oversee platform hosting and metrics collection; • Manage the project .
