I am writing on behalf of the Congregational Council of Desert Streams Lutheran church, located at 10330 N. Cotton Lane, Waddell, AZ 85355, to indicate the council has unanimously voted to support the establishment of a fire and medical district in Waddell, pursuant to the announcement of a hearing to take place on August 15, 2018. Our facility was opened on November 3, 2017 and we are currently served by Rural Metro Fire Service under an annual contract. We are very interested in the establishment of a fire and medical service that is focused on Waddell and is inter-connected to other fire services in the area. Further we appreciate the addition of increased paramedics, fire and safety education, and providing more peace of mind for our membership in the event of fire or medical emergencies. While we recognize that this will impact the residents of the Waddell community, we believe that the benefits far outweigh the increased property taxes and provide a service that is superior to the current arrangement.
