Javier, thank you for your response to my questions.
We are concerned about the use of the small parcel adjacent to our "Girl's Ranch" property because we serve vulnerable
girls there. A very brief description of what we do at that property follows:
1

Girl's Ranch meets the needs of adolescent girls who have suffered trauma related to abuse, neglect, substance use,
victimization and emotional issues, as well as those in need of safe shelter, supportive environment and a place to heal.
Pregnant and parenting teens with children are at an even greater disadvantage, so the Girl's Ranch program offers
these adolescent women a promising opportunity—one that fosters their independence and builds self-confidence away
from the instability of growing up in unsafe environments or multiple child-serving agencies. Girl's Ranch serves girls
under the age of 18 or girls over 18 years old that have signed a voluntary Department of Child Safety placement
agreement, who require unique accommodations and support that many shelters and group home placements are
unable to provide.
Based on your response below, the process would be to write a letter expressing our concerns and that letter would be
included on the agenda for the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 27t h. So I plan to do that. Would you please
provide your contact information? And please let me know the date by which we should submit the letter.
Again, thank you for your help.

Javier,
I got your voicemail and my main concern about the sale of the parcel is regarding what the buyer's planned use is. Do
you know that and can you share that with us? We don't know what the bidders plans are for the parcel and we really
can't ask. However we sell the parcels as-is with no warranties as to suitability for building or any other uses.
Also, if we did object, would there be anything we could do to stop the sale of that property? If you did have any issues
or concerns, you could make them known to the Board of Supervisors, by writing a letter addressed to me here at the
Treasurer's Office or the Clerk of the Board, to be included on the agenda item. However, this still might not prevent
the sale, simply inform the board.
Or, another option could be to make a counter offer by using the form included in the letters we mailed to you.
Thank you for contacting us and for your help.
