RESOLUTION REQUESTING APPROVAL
FOR A MAIL BALLOT ELECTION
OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF NEW MAGMA IRRIGATION & DRAINAGE DISTRICT
In accordance with the provisions of A.R.S. §16-558(A), the governing body of New
Magma Irrigation & Drainage District does hereby request approval from the Board of
Supervisors of Maricopa & Pinal Counties for a mail ballot election to be held in and for the
District on November 13, 2018.

RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CALL OF ELECTION
OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF NEW MAGMA IRRIGATION & DRAINAGE DISTRICT
AS FOLLOWS:
Notice is hereby given to all qualified electors of the above District that an election, to fill
three (3) vacancies on the Board of Directors created by the expiration of the three (3)-year
terms of Milton Le Smith, Vinson Dobson, and Max Koepnick, will be held on the 13th
day of November, 2018.
In order to vote in this election, a qualified elector must own real property located
within the District's taxable boundaries at least ninety (90) days prior to the election.
Persons desiring to become a candidate for the position may obtain Nomination
Petitions and Nomination Papers from:

In order for a person's name to appear on the Ballot, Nomination Petitions and
Nomination Papers must be received no later than August 15, 2018 by 5:00 PM at:

Voters may, at time of election, write in a candidate's name of their choosing who
has not submitted a timely Nomination Petition but who has submitted a Nomination Paper
to the District office listed above at least forty (40) days prior to the election (October 4,
2018).

NOTICE OF ELECTION
NEW MAGMA IRRIGATION & DRAINAGE DISTRICT
The Board of Directors of New Magma Irrigation & Drainage District does hereby give
notice that it will hold an election to fill the expiring terms of three directors.
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018
Ballots will be mailed to each landowner of record no earlier than October 18, 2018, and
no later than November 2, 2018.
The deadline for physical return of the ballot is 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 13,2018.
Ballots must be postmarked no later than November 9, 2018 and received by the District on
November 13, 2018, in order to be counted. The location to return the ballots is the District office
at 34630 North Schnepf Road, San Tan Valley, Arizona 85140.
You may obtain a replacement ballot if a ballot is destroyed, lost, spoiled or not received
by the District by presenting yourself at the District office and making an affidavit that the ballot
has been destroyed, lost, spoiled or not received, and you will be given a new ballot. This must be
done no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.
To be an elector at this election, you must have been a property owner for at least ninety
(90) days prior to the election (August 15, 2018), and you must be over 18 years of age and a
resident of the United States. If the land is held in the name of a corporation, a partnership, or a
limited liability company, those entities must designate in writing the officer or partner who is
authorized to cast the vote of the entity owning the land, and that designation must be submitted
to the District by October 15, 2018. If the land is held in trust, the District must be notified of the
name of thc trustee by October 15, 2018.
