This establishes an agreement by which the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District) can participate as a project stakeholder and provide an in-kind support services match to the above Study. Discussion: The Study is sponsored by the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) with the Nature Conservancy (TNC) acting as a Study Co-Manager and project partner. Reclamation is providing up to 50 percent Federal funding and requires a 50 percent non- Federal cost share. The cost of the three-year study is expected to be $389,100. TNC’s cost-share is estimated at $120,000. The remaining non-Federal match is derived via in-kind support services from the City of Phoenix, the District, and Maricopa County Air Quality Department (Air Quality). The District and Air Quality are not providing monetary funds in support of this study. Estimated in-kind support services match by the District has been set at a not-to-exceed amount of $30,000 over three years of the study effort. This Agreement shall become effective as of the date it has been executed by all Study partners and shall remain in force for the proposed Study length of three years or until Study completion, whichever occurs first. The District continues to collaborate with project partners and public agencies in pursuing our mission of protecting people and property from the damaging effects of flooding. The District recognizes an important regional role as a community partner Page 1 of 2 within Maricopa County and seeks opportunities to support collaborative efforts that are beneficial to the District’s and partner agency strategic goals and missions.
