A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF OLD STATE ROUTE 84, LOCATED WITHIN SECTION 1,
TOWNSHIP 7 SOUTH, RANGE 1 WEST AND SECTION 6, TOWNSHIP 7 SOUTH, RANGE 1 EAST,
FOR COUNTY PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Arizona Department of Transportation has abandoned a portion of Old State Route 84
pursuant to Resolution 85-08-A-56 and recorded in the Office of the Maricopa County Recorder in
instrument 85-445611, and attached to this resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to A.R.S. § 28-7207.1 on abandonment of a state highway located outside the
boundaries of incorporated cities or towns the state’s interest is vested in the county where the roadway is
located; and
WHEREAS, the area abandoned to the county is depicted in Appendix “A” Area “B” in the attached
Arizona Department of Transportation resolution; and
WHEREAS, Maricopa County is formally accepting the area abandoned by the Arizona Department of
Transportation to be used for county purposes.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors that the portion of Old
State Route 84 abandoned to Maricopa County be accepted for public purposes.
