RE: Electrical District Number Eight; Cancellation of Election C4tOR ,
Dear Ms. Medaris:
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 16-410(A), Electrical District Number Eight ("ED8") hereby requests cancellation
of its election of directors scheduled and noticed for January 13, 2018. ED8 has received timely nomination
petitions and/or nomination papers from only five persons seeking candidacy for this election — one for each of
the five division seats whose terms are expiring. Those would-be candidates are, in each instance, the current
incumbents, as follows:
Brian Turner, Division 3
John Utz, Division 6
Robert VanHofwegen, Division 8
Jerry Rovey, Division 9
Michael J. Vanderwey, Division 11
ED8 respectfully requests that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors cancel the January 13, 2018
election, and appoint the above-named persons to fill the 3-year term of director in their respective divisions
commencing January 13, 2018. Upon receipt of notification confirming such cancellation and appointments,
ED8 will mail a notice thereof to qualified electors of record in the affected divisions.
