This Amendment 1 to the INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT (IGA) between MARICOPA
COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Arizona administered by and through the Maricopa
County SHERIFF'S OFFICE ("MCSO") and the STATE OF ARIZONA through its DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC SAFETY ("DPS") collectively referred to as the "Parties" shall be effective on July 1, 2017 and
upon approval of the Maricopa Board of Supervisors and the State of Arizona.
Recitals:
Parties entered into an agreement on January 19, 2016 for prisoner transport pick up service
via shuttle van, "Jail Wagon," to designated areas in Maricopa County for the purpose of transporting
DPS arrestees to the Sheriff's 4 th Avenue Jail Intake Facility in downtown Phoenix for booking ("Initial
Agreement"). References to Initial Agreement are: C-50-16-046-M-00; P001-2015-003-672; and DPS
contract 2015-187.
The Initial Agreement has been operational approximately 18 months. The parties have met
and agree that certain amendments to the Initial Agreement would be mutually beneficial.
The Parties agree to change the Initial Agreement as follows. All other terms and conditions of
the Initial Agreement remain in Place.
Amendment
1. The second sentence in Section 1.7 is replaced in its entirety with the following:
Authorized locations include: DPS Metro Booking; El Mirage Police Department
Headquarters; and DPS Knutson Station.
2. Subsection iv. of Section 1.8 is replaced in its entirety with the following:
iv. Prisoners who have been checked by a first responder and have a blood
pressure reading of over 180190 (either number)
3. Subsection vi. of Section 1.8 is replaced in its entirety with the following:
vi. Prisoners with open sores
4. Subsection xi. of Section 1.8 is replaced in its entirety with the following:
xi. Prisoners displaying the signs or symptoms described in subsections iv.
through viii. are required to have documentation clearing them from the care of a
physician.

5. Section 1.9 is replaced in its entirety with the following:
1.9. Once DPS Troopers have completed required paperwork and items detailed in
section 1.10 below and are in route to the pick-up location, DPS Troopers are
responsible for contacting DPS OPCOMM and advising them to contact MCSO for
a Jail Wagon prisoner pickup.
i. DPS OPCOMM shall contact MCSO at 602-876-1030 and request the Jail
Wagon
15 minutes after MCSO Communications has been contacted, an
estimated time of arrival may be established by DPS OPCOMM contacting
the West or East Jail Wagon directly at the following cell numbers:
Jail Wagon West: 480-369-0950
Jail Wagon East: 480-369-1426
6. Section 7.1. is replaced with:
7.1 MCSO Program: DPS Program:

Arizona Department of Public Safety
7. Add section 9.3 to Section 9. to read as follows:
9.3. This Agreement will be reviewed annually by both parties at an agreed upon date
and time.
8. Section 16. Legal Notices the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office is amended to replace the street
address with the following:
