The proposed amendments are to add the Arizona State Route 30 (SR-30) corridor as a freeway facility from SR-85 to Loop 303 and from Loop 202/South Mountain to Interstate 17 and to add the Interstate 11 corridor from Interstate 10 to US- 93 in the West Valley into the MAG 2040 Regional Transportation Plan, presently in draft form, contingent upon a finding of air quality conformity. Under A.R.S. Section 28-6353(E)(2), the Board is required to submit written recommendations concerning the Major Amendments to the MAG Transportation Policy Committee within 30 days receipt of the notice from MAG. After reviewing the proposed Major Amendments, the Board at its June 21, 2017 meeting unanimously passed a recommendation that the Major Amendments be approved. Maricopa County looks forward to continuing our cooperation and consultation on issues affecting the MAG Regional Transportation Plan. We appreciate inclusion of the Board and MCDOT in processes outlined in State law and on committees hosted by our regional transportation partners. Sincerely, Denny Barney, Chair Maricopa County Board of Supervisors cc. Dennis Smith
