AMENDMENT TO THE
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
MARICOPA COUNTY
ADMINISTERED BY ITS
HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT
AND
GILBERT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
I. Maricopa County by and through the Maricopa County Human Services Department (“County”) and
Gilbert Unified School District ( “District”) entered into a non-financial Intergovernmental
Agreement (“Agreement”) on or about August 23, 2016 for the exclusive use of classroom space and
playground facilities at Harris Elementary School located at 1820 S. Harris Drive, Mesa for the
County’s Head Start program..The Agreement provides The District and the County are collectively
referred to herein as the “Parties” and individually as a “Party.”
II. The Parties wish to amend the Agreement as follows:
A. Modify the Agreement from a non-financial to a financial Agreement.
B. Pursuant to the Facilities section of the agreement Appendix, Paragraph G., Renovations, the
Parties agree the District shall contract with a vendor to make the following renovations to
meet Head Start and/or State Child Care Licensing Regulations:
i. Installation of 250 ft. of fence with two 5 foot gates
ii. Cover 1500 Sq. Ft. with dirt work to include leveling and filling with sand 12 inch depth
iii. Install concrete path 2 foot wide around playground
iv. Install Metal canopy (20 ft x 30 ft)
v. Install playground equipment (to be supplied by District)
vi. Install storage shed (to be supplied by District)
vii. Install12 ft x 12 ft concrete pad by back fence
C. The Parties agree that the County shall pay the Cost of the Renovations and that the
renovation cost shall not exceed $40,000.
III. This agreement is subject to A.R.S. §38-511. The foregoing paragraphs, contain all the changes made by
this Amendment. All other terms and conditions of the original agreement remain the same and in full
force and effect as approved and amended.
