Your partnership with Duet brings vital services to life
When Emilie heard about an upcoming Duet volunteer
orientation she knew it would be a win-win. Duet paired
Emilie with Marie, a fun-loving 92 year-old in need of friendly
visiting. "I love that Marie has so many fascinating stories to
share about her life," beams Emilie. "I enjoy hearing them just
as much as she enjoys telling them."
Evelyn, 85, has found help, hope and compassion through her Duet
volunteers. Ten years ago she reached out when her husband had
Parkinson’s, for transport to medical appointments and rides to the grocery
store. “Pam has been so helpful, and very good to me. She is not only a
friend, she is like a family member.”
Clara recently shared, “Dear Duet – Thank you for providing me with
transportation to my medical facilities. I am homebound except for medical
appointments. I live by myself. I have no relatives or friends living close
enough to furnish me with transportation. I am also 99 years of age so you
can imagine why I appreciate all the volunteers who help me. I cannot thank your organization
enough. You are appreciated!”
“Duet has been a life-saver for me. God Bless you all. I was desperate and needing assistance and
you came through and rescued me. All the people who have been involved have been delightful to be
with. Blessings to all of you. Cordially, Patty.”
Walter was 85 years old when Duet paired him with Jake. The more than
50 year age difference is no barrier to their wonderful friendship. Every
Wednesday, Jake picks Wally up at 7:30 am and they go to Fry’s.
Because Wally has macular degeneration, he cannot drive and needs
help finding the freshest produce and best sales.
