PROCLAMATION MARICOPA COUNTY Fair Housing Month April 2017 WHEREAS, The Civil Rights Act of 1968 (The Fair Housing Act) and the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988, and 24 CFR 5.105(a)(2) ensure full and fair access to housing opportunity; and WHEREAS, shelter is a basic human need and when shelter is denied, the quality of human life is greatly diminished; and WHEREAS, Maricopa County recognizes and values the efforts of those who seek to identify and eliminate barriers to full and fair housing opportunity; and WHEREAS, April is designated as Fair Housing Month; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim the month of April as FAIR HOUSING MONTH in our own communities.
