Jefferson, 10th Floor Phoenix, AZ 85003 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County, Phoenix, Arizona, convened in Special Session at 3:45 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2016, in the Supervisors' Conference Room, 301 W. Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003, with the following members present: Clint Hickman, Chairman, District 4 (via telephone); Andrew Kunasek, Vice Chairman, District 3; Steve Chucri, District 2 (via telephone); Denny Barney, District 1 (via telephone); Steve Gallardo, District 5 (via telephone). Also present: Fran McCarroll, Clerk of the Board; Lori Medaris, Minutes Coordinator; Joy Rich, County Manager; and Michelle Wood, Legal Counsel. ACTION 1. ACCEPT RESIGNATION AND APPOINT A JUSTICE OF THE PEACE FOR THE WEST MESA JUSTICE COURT Accept the resignation of West Mesa Justice of the Peace Mark Anderson effective January 1, 2017. Supervisor Barney made a motion to accept the resignation of Mark Anderson, the West Mesa Justice of the Peace effective January 1, 2017, seconded by Supervisor Chucri. Ayes: Hickman, Kunasek, Chucri, Barney, Gallardo Also, pursuant to A.R.S. §11-251(16), consider the selection of an appointee to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the unexpired term of office. Such appointment shall be effective January 2, 2017. (C-06-17-211-7-00) Supervisor Barney made a motion to appoint Fred Arnett to fill the unexpired term of the Justice of the Peace in the West Mesa Justice Court. The appointment shall be effective January 2, 2017. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Gallardo.
