Having lived in the area for over 50 years, I am sorely disappointed in the re-structuring of Cave Creek over the years. We are losing the ambience, views and peace and quiet we had. I believe we all moved out here because of the views and acreage we had to enjoy. But, now the goal of the town seems to be, lets build everywhere and make tax money. This is not what Cave Creek was meant to be! Please take a step back and remember why we are here. Listen to the people that live here!!!! Why don't we have a say in what happens around us? Are you here to help yourself to all you can get and forgetting the people you are here to serve? More people appose this rezoning so why do you continue to take our life style away from us?!? Thanks for listening - Now think about it Sarah Love Everett 5103 E Tanglewood Circle Cave Creek, AZ 85331 1 Nicholas Schlimm (PND) From: G Alexander <alexanderconnection@gmail.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 9, 2024 11:26 AM To: Nicholas Schlimm (PND) Subject: Opposition - Case Z2023052 Rezoning from Rural to C-2 This Message Is From an Untrusted Sender You have not previously corresponded with this sender. Please use caution when you receive messages from new senders. Always validate the sender first. Dear Mr. Schlimm, I have lived at 5029 E Tanglewood Circle, Cave Creek, AZ 85331, since 2009. The changes that have taken place over the last 10 years have been very detrimental and intrusive to our community and the quaint town of Cave Creek. This needs to stop. Not only is Cave Creek one of the best RURAL areas to live, people come from all over America and the world to see and spend time in this historical frontier town. The further commercialization takes away from what Cave Creek is famous for, why people come here to live and what visitors come to see. Rezoning to C-2 will greatly impact this community negatively. The beautiful mountain views, stone formations and sunsets should not have to compete with a commercial landscape that can be seen in any city in America. There are other options such as the businesses hidden in the desert on Scottsdale Road. I am in opposition to the rezoning of the entrance to this picturesque historic site. Dear Mr. Schlimm, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the rezone hearing for the Cactus Nursery at 33840 N Cave Creek Rd, specifically pertaining to the request for billboard use, wireless communication (cell towers), and retail sale of gas (butane & propane). The prospect of billboards and "Sky Clutter" in our scenic and residential area is deeply troubling and goes against the very essence of our community. I urge you to consider the implications of allowing billboards and commercial elements in our community, especially given the designation of Cave Creek Road as a Scenic Corridor and a participant in the dark skies initiative. I kindly request that you take our concerns into serious consideration prior to the rezone hearing scheduled for January 11th. Your attention to this matter and prompt consideration of my opposition is greatly appreciated. I trust that you will weigh all concerns thoughtfully. Thank you for your time and attention. Please use caution when corresponding outside the county. Hi Nicholas, Regarding Case Z2023052 Cactus Nursery Rezoning to C-2 Commercial. I am a Cave Creek resident who votes regularly and I wanted you to know I oppose the use of billboards, cell towers and retail sales of gas (butane & propane) at this location. This is a scenic location, and our town relies on tourism and local visitors to thrive. What a loss it would be to the area to have those views tainted.
