The Lender agrees to loan to the Borrower eighty-three (83) objects (‘Objects”) from the Central Arizona
Project archaeological collections listed in Attachment A for exhibition at the Discovery Center at Lake
Pleasant Regional Park.

For the period of: August 7, 2016 – June 7, 2017 (“Loan Period”)
This Agreement is subject to termination pursuant to A.R.S. §38-511.

Terms and Special Conditions
AUTHORITY The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will delegate authority for administrative decisions to the
Director of Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department or his designee, as Representative, and the Maricopa
County Board of Supervisors accepts the Director’s recommendation for appointment of the Representative, who will
be authorized to conduct required inventory and administrative actions as may be necessary to carry out the spirit
and intent of the Agreement.

LOANS The loaned Objects from the Lender shall be made to institutions and not to individuals nor for commercial
purposes. No “sub-loans” shall be made. The Borrower agrees to incur all expenses relating to this loan unless
otherwise noted.
CARE Objects covered by this Agreement shall be given proper care in handling, packing, transport, exhibit and
storage to ensure against loss, damage and deterioration. The Lender is to be notified immediately if damage or loss
occurs, whether in transit or on the Borrower’s premises and regardless of responsibility.
ACCOUNTABILITY The Borrower agrees to provide full inventory information for the collection at any time during the
loan period if requested to do so by the Lender.
LIABILITY The Borrower agrees to assume full responsibility for all Objects on loan from the Lender. In the event of
loss or damage, the Borrower’s maximum liability will be limited to the agreed value as stated in Attachment A of this
Agreement. The Lender acknowledges that Borrower is self-insured as provided in A.R.S. § 11-981 and fully
complies with this Section. The Representative for Borrower will not be personally responsible for any and all Objects
on loan from the Lender.
CREDIT Each Object shall be labeled and credited in any exhibition, publication or report. The credit line shall read
as follows: “Courtesy of the Bureau of Reclamation Phoenix Area Office collections housed at the Huhugam Heritage
Center” or as directed. The Lender shall be furnished with a copy of any publication, report, catalog, or research
results that utilize any of the loan Objects.
LOAN PERIOD The loaned Objects must be returned to the Lender no later than the final date of the loan period
stated in this Agreement unless permission is granted by the Lender for an extension of the Loan Period. The Lender
reserves the right to recall any Object from the loan and will make every effort to give reasonable notice.
EXTENSION This Agreement shall automatically renew for ten (10) additional terms of one (1) year each upon
permission of the Lender. All terms and provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect throughout
each renewal term.
