My primary residence is located at 6701 W. Gelding Drive, Peoria AZ. I have been the homeowner since 1990. My Parcel number is 200-69-001X. It has come to my attention that the parcel immediately north and which borders my property has been deeded to the state. The parcel number for this property is 200-69-001W. Although, I have been maintaining this property (parcel 200-69-001W) since I purchased my home in 1990, I was not aware that I did not own the property. I have since found out that ownership was listed by a former resident living at a different address within the same subdivision. The parties listed as owners were Robert Bruce & Jane Scott or may have been Mr. Gary Weinberger (and father) who originally developed this subdivision located on 6700 West Gelding Dr. Mr. Weinberger and his father were original developers during the 1970s who wanted to maintain ownership of the street. These families have since moved out of our subdivision. The 6700 Gelding Dr. is a dead end street which is currently owned by the residents of this subdivision with the exception of parcel 200-69-001W. We are planning improvements to the street and it is my desire to acquire ownership of the property. For the past 26 years I have maintained this same property (200-69-001W) which included maintenance, repair and resurfacing the street. Additionally, the street is private and not maintained by the city, county or state. The street is maintained by each homeowner. As stated above, I was not aware until recently this property had been deeded to the state. Therefore, I am respectfully requesting that I be allowed to purchase this property so I may continue to maintain the parcel and street which enters directly into my driveway. Please consider my offer to purchase property so that I can make improvements to the street and pay taxes on the property.
