PRESENTATION AND ACTION Office of Management and Budget 1. PRESENTATION, PUBLIC HEARING AND TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING ON THE MARICOPA COUNTY FY 2017 BUDGET 1) Presentation regarding the Maricopa County Budget for FY 2017: Sandi Wilson, Deputy County Manager Cynthia Goelz, Deputy Budget Director Brian Hushek, Deputy Budget Director 2) Convene a public hearing, pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17104 and A.R.S. §42-17105, to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2017 Tentative Budget which was adopted May 16, 2016, the proposed tax levy, and on any proposed changes to the Tentative Budget. The changes result in no net change from the Tentative Budget of $2,356,007,976. 3) Convene a Truth-in-Taxation hearing, pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17107, to hear taxpayers in favor of or against the proposed tax levy. (C-49-16-037-M-00) Ms. Wilson presented the final budget for FY 2017 and the following changes made since the tentative budget was approved. There being no speakers present for the hearings, the hearings were closed. 2. MARICOPA COUNTY TRUTH-IN-TAXATION NOTICE 1) Approve the proposed primary tax levy increase of $23,519,770. THIS ACTION REQUIRES A ROLL CALL VOTE OF THE BOARD. 2) Direct the Clerk of the Board to mail a copy of the truth in taxation notice, a statement of its publication and the result of the governing body’s vote to the property tax oversight commission within three days of this hearing pursuant to A.R.S. §42-17107(A)(5). (C-49-16-038-2-00) Motion to approve the primary tax levy increase of $23,519,770 to include direction to the Clerk regarding notice of the vote by Supervisor Barney, seconded by Supervisor Kunasek The Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Hickman, Kunasek, Barney, Chucri, Gallardo NOTE: Executive item was moved to the Special Meeting posted for 10:00 a.m. 3. EXECUTIVE SESSION Vote to convene in Executive Session to consider items on the Executive Agenda dated June 20, 2016, for Board of Supervisors and relevant Special Districts pursuant to statutory authority listed for each item. PUBLIC HEARING ON COUNTY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS FY 2017 BUDGETS Convene a public hearing, pursuant to A.R.S. §48-954 to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2017 County Improvement Districts Tentative Budgets which were adopted May 16, 2016, or on any proposed changes. (C-49-16-047-M-00) Chairman Hickman convened the public hearing on the County Improvement Districts FY 2017 budgets. There being no speakers present for this hearing, the hearing was closed. PRESENTATION, PUBLIC HEARING AND TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING ON THE LIBRARY DISTRICT FY 2017 BUDGET 1) Presentation regarding the Library District FY 2017 Budget: Sandi Wilson, Deputy County Manager Brian Hushek, Deputy Budget Director 2) Convene a public hearing to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2017 Library District Tentative Budget which was adopted May 16, 2016, the proposed tax levy or on any proposed changes to the Tentative Budget. The budget was increased by $8,500 from the Tentative Budget of $26,274,950 to $26,283,450 for additional grant and donation revenues anticipated. 3) Convene a Truth-in-Taxation hearing, pursuant to A.R.S. §48-254, to hear taxpayers in favor of or against the proposed tax levy. (C-49-16-044-M-00) Ms. Wilson presented the Library District of Maricopa County FY 2017 Budget and the following changes made since the tentative budget was approved. PRESENTATION AND PUBLIC HEARING ON THE STADIUM DISTRICT FY 2017 BUDGET 1) Presentation regarding the Stadium District FY 2017 Budget: Sandi Wilson, Deputy County Manager Brian Hushek, Deputy Budget Director 2) Convene a public hearing, pursuant to A.R.S. §48-252 and §48-4232 to hear taxpayers who may wish to comment on the FY 2017 Stadium District Tentative Budget which was adopted May 16, 2016, or any proposed changes. There were no changes from the Tentative Budget of $10,639,898. (C-49-16-049-M-00) Ms. Wilson presented the Stadium District of Maricopa County FY 2017 Budget. Chairman Hickman convened the public hearing on the Maricopa County Stadium District FY 2017 budget. There being no speakers present for this hearing, the hearing was closed.
