Dear Property Owner:
Maricopa County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has completed plans for the Riggs Road (Power
Road to Hawes Road) Project. The project is scheduled to go to bid in the spring of 2017, with construction
beginning shortly thereafter.
As a result of this project, the private roadway and driveway entrances located on Riggs Road may need to be
modified to match the elevation of the new roadway surface. In order to complete this modification, we are
requesting that you grant Maricopa County, a temporary construction easement. This letter will serve as a
Letter Agreement for_a Temporary Construction Easement between you and MCDOT to perform the
necessary work.
In exchange for the minimal rights requested, Maricopa County will pay you the amount of One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00).
MCDOT agrees to indemnify you from all direct damages to the real property, personal property, or physical
injury to persons on the Subject property caused by or arising from the proximate result of the driveway
modification by MCDOT, its officers, agents, or contractors in the exercise of MCDOT’s rights pursuant to the
terms of this letter agreement.
To be valid, MCDOT must have your written acceptance and approval to carry out the required work. We
request you sign the original of this Letter Agreement and return it to Acquisition Sciences, Ltd. in the self-
addressed envelope. A photocopy of this letter and right of way sketch are enclosed for your files.
Upon our receipt of the signed document, we will schedule it for acceptance by the Maricopa County Board of
Supervisors. Once our Board accepts it, a check will be ordered from our Finance Department and sent to the
signers.

Due to project schedules and workloads, we are asking that this agreement be executed and returned as soon as
possible. The Letter Agreement shall be in force during the construction of MCDOT’s Project No. TT406.
