McGuire April 13, 2016 Mr. Jeffrey Lusk, Mitigation Division Director Federal Emergency Management Agency Region IX 1111 Broadway, Suite 1200 Oakland, CA 94607 Subj: Request for Time Extension PDMC-PL-09-AZ-2013-002/EMF-2014-PC-0003 (0) Dear Mr. Lusk: Maricopa County has requested from the State an extension to their Period Of Performance, currently scheduled to end 04/28/2016. Their grant was awarded for the purpose of updating their County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. While the writing of the plan is tentatively complete, they are still in the process of obtaining signatures of adoption of the plan by various jurisdictions. The State has recently determined that the "project" of the grant is not completed until the plan has been adopted by all jurisdictions and the signatures have been obtained, in the event that the plan requires any additional amendments by the jurisdictions who have yet to sign. Neither Maricopa County, nor the State, anticipate any significant delays. However, due to arranging the various local legislative bodies' schedules, and arranging for adoption and signing of the plan, Maricopa County is requesting a year extension to complete the project and complete adoption of the plan with all involved jurisdictions. The State concurs with this request and is now formally requesting, from FEMA, a year extension to the POP for this grant (requested POP end date 04/28/17).
