Mail Ballot Elections
Dear Ms. McCarroll:
Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 16-558(A), an irrigation district may conduct its elections
by mail ballot if the governing board of the district obtains approval from the board of
supervisors of the county in which the district is located, prior to publishing the call of
election. The board of directors of Paloma Irrigation and Drainage District ("PIDD"), through its
manager below, hereby requests permission from the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to
conduct mail ballot elections for the 2016 PIDD election of directors, as well as all subsequent
elections until further notice from PIDD. A mail ballot election is superior because PIDD has a
small number of electors and they do not reside within the boundaries of PIDD.
