Jefferson, 10th Floor, Phoenix, AZ 85003, with the following members present: Clint Hickman, Chairman, District 4; Andrew Kunasek, Vice Chairman, District 3; Denny Barney, District 1; Steve Chucri, District 2; Steve Gallardo, District 5. Also present: Fran McCarroll, Clerk of the Board; Maria Ceaglske, Minutes Coordinator; Tom Manos, County Manager; and Michelle Wood, Legal Counsel. ACTION 1. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS SETTLEMENT Consider a third-party recovery settlement in the Employee Benefits Case No. 18363337 for medical and related claims. The Employee Benefits Trust paid medical and related claims for a covered individual who alleged to have been injured as a result of medical malpractice. A third-party recovery was obtained from the alleged tortfeasor by the injured party. This item was heard in executive session on February 1, 2016 and February 17, 2016. (C-39-16-017-2-00) Supervisor Barney thanked Employee Benefits staff and Legal Counsel for their work on the item. Motion to approve a third-party recovery settlement in the Employee Benefits Case No. 18363337 in the amount of $196,000 for medical and related claims by Supervisor Chucri, seconded by Supervisor Barney Ayes: Hickman, Kunasek, Barney, Chucri, Gallardo 2. SPECIAL EVENT LICENSE FOR SURPRISE REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Pursuant to A.R.S. § 4-203.02, approve a Special Event Liquor License Application filed by Mary Orta for Surprise Regional Chamber of Commerce at 14515 West Granite Valley Drive, Sun City West, Arizona 85375 to be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Richelsen for St. Dominic Mission of the Verdes at 19201 East Rio Verde Drive, Rio Verde, Arizona 85263 to be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
