AMENDMENT TO INTERGOVERNMENTALAGREEMENT
REGARDING
STATE GANG TASK FORCE
DETENTION LIAISON OFFICER (DLO) PROGRAM
This amendment hereby modifies that certain Intergovernmental Agreement, DPS Contract No. 2013-187, between
the State of Arizona through its Department of Public Safety, hereinafter referred to as "DPS" and the Maricopa
County Sheriffs Office, hereinafter referred to as "Agency".
The purpose of this amendment is to reflect an increase in personnel and classifications authorized to fill any
and all vacancies in the program and modify the term of the original agreement and renewal periods
Section I. PARTICIPATION shall be amended to read as follows:
The Agency agrees to assign two (2) detention officers, herein referred to as "officers", to DPS on a full-time basis
to perform the duties of Detention Liaison Officer (DLO) as delineated in Addendum "A" and for such assignments
within the purposes of this IGA, as directed by DPS.
During this period of assignment, the Agency and DPS agree to allow said officers to maintain all benefits, rights
and privileges available to said officers as if they were assigned on a full-time basis to the Agency. The assigned
officer must abide by all of the applicable rules and regulation of the Agency and is subject to its disciplinary
process.
The term of the agreement is modified to July 1,2013 to June 30, 2018 contingent upon legislative allocated budget
approval for each fiscal year. Iffunds are not allocated to support this agreement, DPS may terminate the agreement
with 30 days written notice to the Agency. The agreement may be renewed for an additional (5) year period, subject
to the same terms and conditions.
Subject to the review and approval of the Board of Supervisors,the Agency also agrees to enter into a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) with the Arizona Department of Public Safety relative to the connection and operation of
the Arizona GangNet System All term and conditions of the original agreement not amended hereby remain in full
force and effect. The parties hereto have caused this Amendmentto be executed by the proper officers and officials.
