Dear Ms. Steciuk:
Maricopa County through the Animal Care and Control Department (MCACC) values its
partnership with PetSmart Charities, Inc. and especially appreciates the opportunity to
operate the Everyday Adoption Center (EAC) in Scottsdale. In its five years of operation the
EAC has adopted nearly 10,000 dogs and cats. MCACC considers the EAC a success that
would not have been possible without PetSmart Corporation and PetSmart Charities, Inc.’s
cooperation and willingness to work together. However, MCACC operations will soon
undergo a change that requires the focus of all available resources which make our
continued operation of the EAC impractical.
Consequently, and in accordance with the existing “Adoption Program and Grant
Agreement” implemented October 20, 2010, this letter serves as official notice of
termination. Maricopa County gives ninety-day (90-day) notice that it will be vacating its
operating space at the PetSmart Store #1864 located at 4380 North Miller Road, Scottsdale,
Arizona 85254 on May 17, 2016, and ceasing all activity.
The County wishes to continue the fruitful relationship with PetSmart Corporation and
PetSmart Charities, Inc. and is looking forward to exploring other opportunities to work
together to save animals’ lives.
