To Whom It May Concern:
As you may be aware, on May 29, 2014, Governor Jan Brewer signed into law a bill creating a
new State Agency to oversee child services, the Department of Child Safety (DCS). This bill
separated the Division of Children, Youth and Families' Child Protective Services section from
the Department of Economic Security (DES). The new Agency was established July 1, 2014 and
is in the process of transitioning staff and finalizing the separation from DES.
As a result of this legislation, the current DES co-locator agreement for your building located at
140 N. Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, which is occupied by DCS staff, will need to be transferred to
the new Agency. To facilitate this change, the Office of Procurement, is proposing to mutually
terminate the DES co-locator agreement and simultaneously execute a new co-locator agreement
with DC S .
This letter serves as a 30 day notification of termination, as required in Section 3.3., Termination,
of IGA number DE081312-001. An amendment to terminate the agreement will be forthcoming
for your signature.
