FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
 Provide a statutory exemption allowing a county to own or lease land
outside its limits for the purpose of developing, operating and maintaining
wireless communication facilities used for county government purposes.
HUMAN RESOURCES
o County Employee Merit Commission – Member Terms
 Align the terms of appointment to a limited county employee merit
system with the terms of appointment to the law enforcement merit
system council, require both parties to agree to a public hearing in
an appeal and make other clarifying changes.
o Law Enforcement Officers – Appeal of Disciplinary Action
 Assert that the hearing in an appeal of a disciplinary action by a law
enforcement officer in which a single hearing officer or
administrative law judge has been appointed may be open to the
public or private only by mutual consent of both parties.
COUNTY MANAGER’S OFFICE
 Exempt excess payments made to the Public Safety Personnel
Retirement System from the county’s expenditure limitation.
COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER
 Clarify that a county Medical Examiner is only required to complete and
sign the medical certification of death on a death certificate for certain
reportable deaths if they assume jurisdiction of the case.
