Subject: Termination of lease Agreement C-6595, dated December 1, 1987 and
approved by the County Board of Supervisors and the Town Council of the Town of
Buckeye on February 1, 1988
Dear Mr. King:
In accordance with paragraph 3. of the subject lease agreement, which states, "either
the owner [Buckeye] or County may terminate this agreement by giving the other party
90 days written notice of intent to terminate by certified mail."
The City of Buckeye hereby requests that the ground lease between the city and the
county be terminated. Note, that 90 days would put the official termination at
approximately the middle of August 2015; however, the city has successfully entered
into a ground lease with Catholic Charities effective July 1, 2015. This new lease
effectively releases Maricopa County from all obligations under the subject lease
agreement, so would be in both parties interest to make the termination as of June 30,
