12% SRPMIC Grant program:
The D-backs Race Against Cancer enters its third year as one of Arizona's premier charitable races.
A growing number of cancer survivors from across Arizona joined D-backs President and CEO Derrick
Hall. 14 cancer research and support organizations provided screening, information and outreach for
families dealing with cancer. Featuring a new twist, participants in the the D-backs Race Against Cancer
were allowed to fmish the race inside Chase Field. The popular new addition was a hit with runners and
families, who were allowed to join them on the field for a family/survivor photo.
In 2015, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will continue the excitement of the D-backs Race
Against Cancer. With estimated gross revenue of $250,000 gross and a projected $170,000 net, the D-
backs Race Against Cancer will be an important platform to raise significant funds for a cause that
touches just about everyone in our community. We have evaluated the date of the D-backs Race Against
Cancer in an effort to identify a date that will be exciting for fans and promote the charitable impact of the
race. Additionally, moving the date to an in-season event will allow the Foundation to use team and
ballpark resources to promote the race, improve the fan experience, reduce expenses and improve net
results.

Dear Ms. Salazar-Willeford:
The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation is proud to provide an update on the 0-backs
Race Against Cancer supported by a generous 12% grant from the Salt River Pima-
Maricopa Indian Community.
With just 8 days to go, plans are complete and we are well on our way to a record event.
With new supporters and corporate teams, the D-backs Race Against Cancer has grown in
popularity and impact. We expect participant numbers to increase by 20% over last year.
Most importantly, our impact on cancer will increase for 2014. With an equal focus on
screenings, research, treatment and support — we are confident that the funds we raise
are improving the lives of those dealing with cancer.
