Community Information and Referral Services (CIR) was founded in 1964 and incorporated in 1979 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. CIR's mission is "To serve as Arizona's key source of integrated information that brings people and services together to meet vital needs", and our vision is that "All Arizonans are easily connected to available health and human services in their communities". CIR's 2-1-1 Arizona program is the main source for health and human service information and referrals in the State of Arizona. With currently over 37,000 services available, 2-1-1 Arizona fulfilled over 1.34 million service requests in FY 2013 through the 24/7 call center, website at www.211arizona.org , and iphone and android apps. 2-1-1 provides callers with information and referrals to basic human needs, physical and mental health resources, employment support, older adult, persons with disabilities, children, youth and families support, and volunteer opportunities and donations. 2-1-1 Arizona also provides easy access to vital community and government service programs available, coordination of volunteer needs and opportunities statewide, eliminates duplication of information and referral services for providers, provides demographic feedback and tracking of trends in needs, services, gaps, and poverty areas, and valuable support for emergency 9-1- 1 operations and disaster relief efforts. Beginning Date of Project: July 1, 2014 End Date of Project: June 30, 2015 Geographic Area to be served: 2-1-1 Arizona is available statewide in Arizona, but primarily services Maricopa County at currently 83% of the total referrals. ** Attach Detailed Budget** Amount of Total Project: $78,000 Amount of 12% Request: $78,000 (No Multi-Year Request will be accepted) If the Amount of funding received is less than the amount needed for the project, do you have other funds to complete the project? (Please Explain): 2-1-1 Arizona is requesting $78,000 for FY 2015 to increase call center capacity by increasing direct service to callers, specifically by adding 3.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) 2-1-1 Arizona Call Specialist positions, and thereby adding approximately 6000 hours of answer time available to callers. Currently, due to increase demand for services, 2-1-1 Arizona is experiencing a 30 % call abandonment rate.
