New TIS Consultants Overview
The Treasurer’s Information System (TIS) is a 25-year old system written primarily in COBOL and based
on Oracle’s Rdb database system. Oracle and HP’s announcement resulted in an end-of-life situation for TIS.
To continue delivering services with a customer-focused approach the Treasurer’s Office must work to
modernize TIS. In FY14 consulting services were procured and the funding in the amount of $520,000 was
requested to initiate the project.
The Office is moving forward with subsequent phases as outlined below in the high-level diagram. In
order to maintain continuous forward progress and ensure the success of each phase to procure a new TIS
system, we are requesting funding in FY15 in the amount of $522,500.00
