I. PURPOSE 
This retention incentive plan addresses challenges in recruiting and retaining security officers. 
II. PLAN 
A. Eligibility: 
1. Regular status security officers, security specialists, security officer supervisors, and 
security officer managers who are meeting performance expectations as of 
5/20/2026. 
2. One emergency services planner within the Maricopa County Superior Court 
Security Division who is meeting performance expectations as of 5/20/2026. 
B. One-Time Payments: 5% of base rate 
C. Repayment Clause: Employees who received a security officer retention incentive and 
voluntarily separate from employment must repay all retention incentives received in the 
last 12 months prior to their separation. Employees should contact Human Resources to 
determine repayment terms. 
D. Funding: Within departments’ existing budget.
