Approve Intergovernmental Agreement between Maricopa County and City of Peoria for the 
acquisition of right of way on properties within unincorporated Maricopa County as impacted by 
Peoria’s Capitol Improvement Project EN00537 El Mirage Road: L303 to Jomax Road. This 
Agreement shall become effective as of the date it becomes fully executed. The term of this 
Agreement shall be for ten (10) years after the effective date or until all existing and acquired 
land rights within unincorporated Maricopa County have been transferred to the City, whichever 
occurs first. The Parties may extend the term for additional periods, up to ten (10) years each, 
by written agreement signed by both Parties.
General Vicinity: El Mirage Rd – Loop 303 to Jomax Rd
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 
The City of Peoria is requesting this IGA to assist with acquiring the right-of-way for their Capital 
Improvement Project EN00537 El Mirage Road: L303 to Jomax Road.  This project will form a 
continuous extension of El Mirage Road from Loop 303 on the south to Jomax Road on the 
north. The roadway will be a major arterial roadway with 3 lanes in each direction, landscaped 
median, curb, gutter, sidewalk and lighting. The intersection with Happy Valley Road will be 
signalized and the project signalizes the Traffic Interchange at Loop 303 as well. The majority of 
the project is located in Maricopa County, and the City has executed an Intergovernmental 
Agreement with Maricopa County for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the 
roadway. All right of way associated with this project will be owned by the City of Peoria.
