ATTACHMENT D Program Information Summaries Head Start Training During the week of August 3–7, the Head Start Education team held four training sessions for over 64 educators across the Washington Elementary, Fowler Elementary, and Deer Valley Unified School Districts. The sessions covered team building, school readiness, active supervision, standards of conduct, and an Education Boot Camp. They enhanced participants’ understanding of curriculum implementation, practice- based coaching, assessment, dual-language support, and home visits, while reinforcing high-quality instructional practices to support strong student outcomes. KinderCare Training On Tuesday, August 18, the Early Head Start Health Specialist visited KinderCare Black Canyon to train the new Education Service Provider (ESP) staff on the Medical Information Report process, the Special Meal Modification Request Form, and proper medication storage. The ESP staff quickly grasped the information and were receptive to the guidance. Client Success Story In August, a Human Services staff member was notified that a Head Start parent from the previous program year had been employed by the Fowler School District as a Head Start instructional assistant. Client Success Story At the end of August, Head Start staff noticed that a mother at one of the Alhambra Elementary School District sites needed a stroller. She walks her Head Start child to school each day while carrying her five-month-old baby. Head Start staff reached out to the Alhambra School District team to request support, and the site secretary offered a stroller she was no longer using. The stroller was delivered to the family, and the mother expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation and support.
