TEMPORARY ELECTION WORKER PREMIUM PAY AND INCENTIVES 
For CY 2026 Primary and General Elections: 
 
• $2.00/Hour Election Poll Worker Premium Pay. 
 
• $100 Election Poll Worker Support Stipend for supporting Elections on election night by 
assisting with closing sites, receiving election materials, and red and blue line support. 
Hours worked beyond 5 hours are paid at minimum wage. 
 
• $1,250 Temporary Election Worker One-Time Retention Incentive for temporary staff 
working at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center (MCTEC) who work: 
o At least 200 hours. 
o At least 4 weeks total during the Primary and/or General Elections. 
• 8 Hours of Holiday Pay for each day Temporary Election Workers work on Thanksgiving 
or the Day After Thanksgiving to support the General Election recount efforts. 
 
 
REGULAR EMPLOYEE GENERAL ELECTION RECOUNT INCENTIVE 
For even-year General Election Recounts: 
• $750 Recount Stipend for Regular Employees who work: 
o The full week of Thanksgiving, including Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after 
Thanksgiving, and the weekend if needed. 
o The full week after Thanksgiving through the first Friday of December. 
o 80% of the scheduled shifts. 
The County Manager can authorize a recount stipend on a case-by-case basis.
